Houston Graduate School of Theology began as a passionate vision of Dr. Delbert Vaughn, a Houston pastor of the Evangelical Friends Church, with the able partnership of his wife, Carol. Dr. David Robinson became the school’s second president in 1997 when the school began to expand its programs.
HGST was the first Protestant ATS-accredited seminary based in Houston and a predominant local provider of theological education by offering classes in the daytime, evenings, weekends, and online. HGST affirms many denominational heritages and embraces its ethnic diversity. The school’s educational focus has been on missional theology, systems thinking, spiritual formation, and counseling programs rooted in the integration of psychology and theology.
In spring 2021, HGST became a legacy partner in ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ and is now collaborating with other like-minded schools to offer affordable, accessible, relevant, and faithful theological education around the world.
Becky Towne is a Kairos Executive Partner and the Houston Graduate School of Theology Legacy President.
HGST is known for its counseling programs, missional theology, and spiritual formation.
